The inevitable announcement of add-on content for Skyrim was bittersweet for me. I absolutely LOVED playing Skyrim, but after being addicted to the game for months, playing around 200 hours and conquering ALL of the achievements, I knew it was time to finally move on. After all, there are plenty of other games out there, and Skyrim was keeping me from enjoying those.

Wii U Sneak Peek Event

Last week I was fortunate enough to attend a Nintendo sneak peek event for the upcoming Wii U. I was able to test out the functionality of the Wii U, as well as see and play several of the console’s games. While the event was a blast (what event about gaming ISN’T fun?), it left me feeling conflicted about the Wii U.

Magic’s Lack of Creativity

Recently I’ve been playing Duel of the Planeswalkers 2013 (which is another great addition to the series, by the way) and I stumbled upon a Magic card that I’ve never seen before… Brute Force.

Of course, this isn’t a NEW card by any means, but since I don’t play Magic with the frequency that I used to, it’s new to me. Either way, I have to admit that cards like this really get on my nerves.

It finally happened… my Xbox 360 hard-drive filled up!

It was inevitable, seeing as I’m still using one of the older, smaller hard-drives that came with the first Xbox 360 run. I’ve been using my Xbox 360 since 2005, so the original hard-drive has lasted me quite a while.

Face it… gaming is an expensive hobby. With new retail games costing around $60 and updated gaming platforms popping up all the time, gamers can quickly find themselves going broke trying to keep up with the industry’s hottest trends. When you consider that many of the most passionate gamers are high school and college aged students, the cost of gaming as a hobby seems even more outrageous. Bugowulf

Bugs suck. Before I proceed any further, I feel I should warn you that this is just a rant about a game (Beowulf) that I’ve been playing recently and the evil glitch that I encountered.

A week or so ago, I picked up Beowulf for Xbox 360. The game has been out for a few years now, but I like fantasy games, have been looking for something short to play, and I enjoyed the movie… so why not give it a shot right? Aiding in my decision to make the purchase was the fact that the game was only around $4. Win!

Kill time (and zombies) while waiting for Walking Dead!

I admit, when The Walking Dead first premiered on television, I was hesitant to watch it. Why? Because I’m a giant pansy and zombies scare the crap out of me! Nevertheless, at the time I was the community manager for a social game about zombies (Zombie Mosh!), and part of the job was immersing myself in the zombie culture, so I decided to give the show a chance. Needless to say, I’ve been hooked ever since.

Fez Mini-Review

As a huge fan of the Xbox Live Arcade, I’m often on the lookout for some cheap new games to download. There’s a big selection of appealing games on XBLA, but few have received as much hype as Fez. Eager to see if it could meet my expectations,  I downloaded Fez last week and have been addicted to the tricky puzzle/platforming game ever since!
