My Broken Xbox 360
I miss gaming.
Last summer, my beloved Xbox 360 started giving me the infamous “Red Ring of Death.” I worked a few tricks to get it functioning again, but it was a temporary fix and at this point I think my 360 is basically a brick. It’s particularly sad because I still had my Xbox 360 from the original launch. Read the rest of this entry »

Mini-Review: BioShock Infinite (Infinitely Awesome)
It’s no secret that BioShock Infinite is one of the best videogames released in recent memory. The scores at GameRankings will tell you that. As a fan of the first two BioShock games, I was eager for the release of Infinite… though dreading it at the same time since I’m a pansy and the previous games creeped me out. Now that I’ve recently completed an initial playthrough of the game I have to admit that I find myself in awe. Virtually everything about BioShock Infinite is perfect. Read the rest of this entry »
My Latest Gaming Purchases
I recently completed BioShock Infinite (stellar game – I’ll probably post some thoughts on it later) so I decided to head to my local GameStop and see what cheap games I could find. I tend to seek out the cheap games in order to satisfy my gaming fix. And by cheap I don’t mean the $39.99 games or even the $19.99 games. I’m talking about the bargain bin $5 games. Why I Hate Kickstarter
When I first discovered the wonderful world of Kickstarter, I thought it was great. I’m a big gamer and I’ve worked for several small gaming studios, so I immediately saw huge potential here. What better way for indie studios and tiny teams to get funding for awesome projects? Read the rest of this entry »
Mini-Review: Dragon Age II
Yes, I know I’m incredibly late on posting a review of this game. Unfortunately, I’ve fallen far behind in my gaming in the last few years, but slowly I’m catching up. After spending the better part of the last year and a half obsessed with Skyrim, I finally wrapped up the game and all expansions with 100% achievement completion. The time had come to move on and Dragon Age II was waiting patiently on my gaming pile. Read the rest of this entry »
Save Me!
Few things annoy me more in a game than having to replay portions that I’ve already done. It’s redundant and no fun. Of course, even worse is when you THINK you’ve saved your progress only to find out you really haven’t and have to re-do a level. Read the rest of this entry »
My Love/Hate Relationship with Elder Scrolls
Stupid bugs. It’s such an obvious statement that it doesn’t really need to be said, but I’ll say it anyway: video game bugs are annoying. Of course, most mainstream games are of pretty high quality and manage to avoid major bugs that greatly hinder the experience. Unfortunately, that’s not really the case in the Elder Scrolls series, which just happens to include some of my favorite games of all-time. Read the rest of this entry »
HearthFailure
I finally managed to finish Dawnguard and decided it was time to move onto Hearthfire. Dawnguard was a fun addition to Skyrim, with plenty of content and some cool new abilities. And of course, vampires are cool, right? Hearthfire is a totally different story. I’ll cut right to the chase… unless you’re a hardcore Skyrim fan, don’t waste your time and money on Hearthfire.
